The lesson “Cook Local Simple Foods – Part 1” helps the children develop the life skill of learning to cook simple meals. The children will be able to name basic food and cooking safety rules, demonstrate measuring and using utensils though preparing a simple recipe, and develop pre-math skills through measuring and simple counting. The lesson includes guided instructions for the teacher, including preparation, a script, and suggested activities to facilitate further learning in a fun and interactive manner. This lesson is designed for children between 3-5 years, and is the 36th lesson in a two-part series in the 2nd Year “Where Does My Food Come From?” unit.
