The lesson “I Can Grow Healthful Food” is part 25 of a 42 part series on parts of the human body, health, and safety. This lesson focuses on planting a seed in a container of soil and watering it. This resource includes a lesson plan for the teacher on how to prepare beforehand, class-time content to facilitate learning, hands-on activities facilitating further learning, and a teacher assessment at the end. This lesson is designed for a group of young children between the ages of 3 and 5, and is the twenty-fifth physical development lesson in the Core Curriculum, 3-5 years, Year One.
