The lesson “Manners” teaches children the importance of good manners in terms of personal hygiene and disease prevention. Children name and explain three practices of good manners that prevent the spread of a cold, such as covering your mouth when sneezing, or using a tissue or handkerchief and washing hands often. The children also practice demonstrating these actions with the class in a fun group activity. The lesson includes guided instructions for the teacher, including preparation, a script, and suggested activities to facilitate further learning in a fun and interactive manner. This lesson is designed for children between 3-5 years, and is the 25th lesson in the 2nd Year Core Curriculum Set and part of the “Social Development” unit.
