The lesson “Being a Good Friend by Sharing and Taking Turns” teaches children about effective interpersonal and relationship skills, as well as personal responsibility through sharing and taking terms. Children learn and verbalize the benefits of sharing with friends and patience. Each child will name two or more things he or she can share and will take turns playing games and in activities with others in the class. The lesson includes guided instructions for the teacher, including preparation, a script, and suggested activities to facilitate further learning in a fun and interactive manner. This lesson is designed for children between 3-5 years, and is the 18th lesson in the 2nd Year Core Curriculum Set and part of the “Social Relationships” unit.
