The lesson “I Can Take Care of My Eyes” is part five of a 42 part series on parts of the human body, health, and safety. This lesson teaches about the sense sightand the eyes. It includes basic anatomy of the eye and how to recognize if someone might have an eye disease. This lesson includes information on hand washing to prevent the spread of eye diseases. This resource includes a lesson plan for the teacher on how to prepare beforehand, class-time content to facilitate learning about the sense of sight, hands-on activities facilitating further learning, and a teacher assessment at the end. This lesson is designed for a group of young children between the ages of 3 and 5, and is the fifth physical development lesson in the Core Curriculum, 3-5 years, Year One.
