The lesson “I Can Take Care of My Ears” is part one of a 42 part series about parts of the body, health, and safety. This lesson teaches children about the purpose of their ears as well as safety and hygiene for ears. Students learn how to care for their ears by not putting objects in their ears and not standing close to the source of loud noises. This resource includes a lesson plan for the teacher on how to prepare beforehand, class-time content to facilitate learning about hearing, and hands-on activities facilitate further learning, and a teacher assessment at the end. This lesson is designed for a group of young children between the ages of 3 and 5, and is the first physical development lesson in the Core Curriculum, 3-5 years, Year One.
